As Director of State and Local Government Affairs, Dan Larson provides leadership, management, and oversight of the firm's state government relations team, which is one of the largest and most politically diverse in Minnesota.
Mr. Larson draws on more than two decades of government, civic, and political experience to assist firm clients. He has been a lobbyist at LGN for nine years and focuses on tax, public health, technology, jobs, and labor issues.
Known for his work-ethic and passion for clients' issues, he has developed strong relationships at the State Capitol, Governor's office and Administration, as well as with city and county government officials. Because of his successful tenure and winning-track record for LGN clients, Mr. Larson has been recognized by his peers for superior service.
Mr. Larson also was elected as a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and served for 10 years as a Minnesota State Senator and a Minnesota State Representative (first elected in 1998) representing portions of Bloomington, Richfield, and South Minneapolis. He was Vice Chair of the Senate Tax Committee and the Chair of the Subcommittee on Elections, as well as the Ranking Member of the House Transportation Committee.
Additionally, Mr. Larson is a member of the American Cancer Society Leadership Board for Minnesota.
