LGN was Lead Counsel in this case which challenged the transfer of Assigned Risk Plan assets to the state of Minnesota's General Fund and other state funds. The Plaintiffs Lockridge Grindal Nauen represented, employers that purchased workers' compensation insurance policies through the Assigned Risk Plan, recovered $25 million.
LGN represented injured fisherman, Alaska Natives and land owners, among others, and was a part of the trial team that won a $5 billion jury verdict in the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Litigation. For their efforts, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice named the plaintiffs' trial team in the Exxon Valdez case their Trial Lawyers of the Year for 1994. The firm continues to play an integral role in this case, working to secure recovery for the thousands of people affected by the spill.
