Jems Guirguis
Overview
Jems Guirguis is a student at the University of Minnesota Law School, class of 2026. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in June 2022 with a major in political science and a minor in poverty, inequality, and social justice. Jems worked for multiple non-profit organizations, doing policy work, running community coalitions, and running a youth court program aimed at restorative justice through PIC, one of the community coalitions led by Jems. Jems worked on a policy proposal to provide pro-bono legal representation for undocumented immigrants facing deportation in California. Additionally, Jems has worked on providing training and ensuring that local schools in California are equipped with Narcan on school campuses, while also providing educational materials and presentations on substance misuse. As a 2L, Jems looks forward to being the Vice President of the Sports Law Association and serving as the Social Media Coordinator for the Black Law Student Association.
